The goal at ULTIMA is to develop quality content locally that meets or beats Global standards. Driven by a passion to be the best, Ultima’s team is constantly reviewing and raising the benchmarks for creativity and the quality of production. This constant striving for excellence has resulted in exceptional positive reviews of WWTBAM-ULTIMA’s flagship programme.
The standards at ULTIMA are aimed at surpassing the strict “ethically acceptable” and “professional quality” standards required by the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission (NBC) before broadcasting any programming on their national network. All of ULTIMA’s programming and formats are first subject to in-house scrutiny before they are presented to 3rd parties such as the Television stations, Print Media and Radio. The airing of WWTBAM on NTA for the last 9 seasons attests to the acceptable standard and quality of programming developed and produced by ULTIMA.
The recent completion of MTN Project Fame West Africa season 5 to global standards buttresses the quality level and integrity of programming originating from ULTIMA’s studios.
The ability to leverage technology to enable 2 way communication and participation during programmes has been enhanced with the availability of telephony and social media platforms such as GSM, Twitter, Facebook, Google plus and the like. The availability, spread and affordability of these services has encouraged greater participation in interactive programmes in the genre that ULTIMA has and is developing.
ULTIMA as a self-regulating organization constantly seeks to ensure that both internal and public standards are fair and are abided with, and so proactively sought authorization to initiate participative TV that charged a premium from the National Communications Commission (NCC) the regulatory agency of the telecommunications sector. ULTIMA’s self-regulatory initiative earned it the position of the only organization to have obtained NCC authorization and approval to charge N200/text for participation on WWTBAM.
In order to develop superior programming content, ULTIMA have developed strategic relationships and partnerships with globally acknowledged participative TV program producers to gain expertise in developing creative, technical and developing professional staff required to produce to global standard
